First Hunters Camp June 16 – 20th.
June 16 @ 9:00 am - June 20 @ 12:00 pm
Learn how people from all over the world hunted before the bow and arrow. In this hands-on camp, kids will spend the week learning to make their own atlatl (spear thrower) and dart (spear), using only stone and bone tools from the past. They will practice throwing darts at a target every day and will become proficient in its use. The practice of stalking, tracking and animal movements will also be part of the camp. OR: Kids will develop stalking and tracking skills every hunter needed for success.
This camp will require participants to work hard every day to complete making their hunting equipment but will be rewarded by having an authentic, functional replica of one of our most ancient hunting systems.
