DESCRIPTION:Secrets of Ancient Arts Camp July 14th – 18th\nENROLLMENT OPEN – SIGN UP HERE \nAges 8-12 – In this intensive camp\, kids will learn how ancient peoples made the tools and gathered the raw materials to make a multitude of cultural arts. They will smash stones to make cutting edges\, peel tree bark to tie tools together and split wood with antler to create their own cultural artifacts. \nStudents will make their own stone and bone tools\, grind pigments to make paint\, then make and decorate\, whistles\, bull roarers\, games and toys. \n\n  Overall class goals and objectives for ALL classes\, camps and workshops: \n\nLearn how prehistoric peoples created a multitude of art and culture items from the natural materials around them.\nLearn how ancestral peoples made the tools and acquired the plant\, animal and mineral resources to create art and culture items.\nLearn to appreciate the relationships these ancient peoples had with the natural world around them and how they lived in balance with it.\nLearn the STEM lessons presented from working with the tools and materials.
